Welcome to Art
I look forward to getting to know all my students. Watching you grow within your knowledge and skills brings me such joy! Feel free to use the tabs on my website to locate current projects.
A little bit about your teacher...
Born in New York yet raised in Texas for the majority of my life. Yee Haw
My Bachelor of Arts degree comes from The University of Texas at Arlington.
My degree is in Interdisciplinary Studies with my main focus in Architecture and Interior Design. I became Certified to teach all levels of Art in 2015 through ACT.
Impacting the world and the students within it has given my life a greater purpose. Nothing has ever made my soul happier than to become a teacher. We will have a blast in my class this year! That being said I have a zero tolerance for a negative or unwilling to work attitude. In my class we will show up ready to learn, polite and respectful of each other and our work, quiet and patient when the time comes to focus and most of all safe within all of our actions. I strive to be a fair teacher to all my students and I will always enjoy encouraging your artistic minds! Get ready for a fun school year.

why do we need white posterboard, a zip lock bag, and a student photo?
To start things off, none of these items are required. I do not have a set deadline however they are extremely helpful for all age art students. Extra posterboard and zip locks used as donation are also appreciated and accepted. 😀
The posterboard will be used as a portfolio to collect all of the art created by one individual student accumulated over the course of a year. It is a great way to also store and keep their work for years to come.
We will be using the outside of our portfolio posters to create our own sketch book exercises. The students have a guided step hand out in class to practice several techniques if they finished their work early or if they have a substitute teacher day.
The photo is to help guide the individual student when it comes time for their yearly self portrait projects. According to the Texas Essential Knowledge and skills, each grade level will practice this once a year. I have classroom safe mirrors so that any children who cannot bring a photo in of them self can draw based on site. I've noticed that it is helpful to have a flat photograph to understand scale and proportions.
The ziplock bag is meant to keep the photo protected so that you may get the picture back in one piece. I do suggest to send a more recent photo from the shoulders up. I also recommend placing the students name, home room teacher and school year on the back in order to help pass back students portfolios at the end of the year.
I hope this information helps and I am so excited for all of my students to bring home wonderful creations of art!
Sincerely,
Ms. Campbell'
